Teaching Statements

Deeper integration of “art & science” through the hybrid thinking mindsets:

Throughout my teaching career, I have attached equal importance to both the two foundations, design and technology. My classes emphasize the integration of the underlying logic of design thinking and computational thinking to cultivate the students’ “computational design thinking”, enabling them to develop creative designs based on underlying technical possibilities and thus make groundbreaking innovations.

More extensive “interdisciplinary innovation” driven by process-oriented approaches:

In developing cross-disciplinary talents, I believe that a solely result-oriented approach may stifle students’ creativity and thus advocate for a process-oriented approach that encourages students to explore uncertainty, find common ground among different disciplines, and achieve their integration and mutual advancement, so as to cultivate cross-disciplinary talents with an experimental spirit.
